Homestead For Youth wants to be available to all people not just now but in the future. Covid-19, mandates, and a changing world; have hit families hard and it's been a little bit tough on Homestead For Youth too. The good news is...It's helped us to take stock of what we are doing for the community and how we can best prepare for the future in a world of ongoing uncertainty, and potential restrictions, and should our communities suffer more than we ever expected, then we want to ensure H4Y can continue to be a light that brings refuge and recovery.
We want to set up the amazing farm we are paying off, for the future. So that every acre yields 'good fruit' in more ways than one. And should there be communities in need, families struggling Homestead can be a place of provision regardless of the circumstances and restrictions around us. Help us pay off the farm for good, cut the noose from our necks, and provide sponsorships to clients who can't afford to access the services they need. Your funds will pay off the farm so it can never be taken, it will help us grow vegetables, fruit, and produce; it will move us forward to ensuring clients can always afford to access us while also helping us provide programs to teach our clients necessary skills of self-sustainability. Ultimately, to change lives changed from the experience of a victim to a victor. With your financial support, we can pull this off in 12 months. Debt-free, yielding crops, upskilling families, providing access to homeschool support, equine therapy, animal programs, and well-being support sustainably. Join the many West Australians who helped get us this far and let's set the farm up for the future.
"I find it hard to express my gratitude towards homestead for all that they have done for me. I say this because I've spent so much of my life trying to fill up a void inside me. One that was aching for love and affirmation. I'd try different things to fill me up and make me feel better but they only left me feeling worse. I was letting feelings control me and was not thinking about how it affected my friends and family.
Through coming to the farm at Homestead For Youth, I was able to find a safe place that I could call home. Waking up every morning and seeing the horses outside my bedroom window and having such incredible people around me helped me to learn that love is not found in the things that cause harm and are easy, but the things that bring life and joy to myself and the others around me.
Yes, we would all make the best of the situation if we had to move, but I must admit that things for me would not be the same if we had to go to another property. This place is unique and there isn’t anywhere else like it. There is beauty everywhere and will always be my home."
"Homestead has changed my life in more ways than one. I've been so incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to learn healthy ways or coping with my emotions and how to show my respect to the people around me. I've not always had a very good attitude towards life and spent a lot of it full of anxiety and self doubt. As my journey continues, my confidence is growing, my respect for others and not just myself has increased and now I know my purpose in life. I'd hate myself to think about where I'd be if it wasn't for this program! Thank you so much to Homestead for Youth for helping me to choose life."
"Homestead 4 Youth offers a unique approach to restoring lives through their many hands-on therapies like equine therapy, Kombi Van Restoration Therapy, and Arts Therapy. Through their Mental Health Residential program and their community therapy programs including the Therapy & Sensory Animal Farm, they are changing lives. Their motto "Choose life" encompasses what they believe - that there is a purpose, there is potential, and that there is always hope. It is an organisation that is very close to my own heart. I have been a volunteer with Homestead4Youth for nearly 4 years now, and I have seen firsthand how the programs work and how passionate the H4Y staff and volunteers are about young people and their families. Watching the teens grow in an environment that is safe, finding that place to belong, it has been my great privilege."
